Competitor Analysis Rules:
Rule 1:
After searching our keyword in Google, we will get 10 search results in first
page of Google. But not all of them is our competitor. To recognize our
non-competitor results, we can simply research their “Title Text”. If it
doesn’t contain with our ‘Exact Keyword’ or ‘Related Keyword’, then it is not
our competitor.
Rule 2:
We won’t give priority to Crazy URL’s. Sign of Crazy URL:
● Irrelevant Content
● ‘Site Name’ doesn’t match with targeted keyword or content
● Poor quality content
Rule 3:
Weak sites can be easily dominated. Sign of Weak Site:
● Wikipedia Page
● Wiki Answering Page
● Forum Page
● User Generated Page
● Downloading Page
● Youtube Page
● Amazon Page
○ NOTE: Amazon Direct Page is slightly stronger than Amazon
Category Page.
Rule 4:
If our search result contains with 5 buying site out of 10 results,( such asE-Commerce, Online Shop) then we won’t work with that keyword. If first 3
results are entirely buying site, then we won’t think about working on that
specific keyword because it will be much much difficult to rank.
Rule 5:
If there are any niche site related to my site, that will be good for me. If that
site can be ranked.
NOTE: “If 3 or more than 3 niche site appear, then have to think twice
working with that keyword”
Rule 6:
We won’t give priority to these elements: Page Rank, URL, Description.
